After weeks of absence from the airwaves fuelled speculation about her whereabouts, radio presenter and TV favourite Chrissie Swan has revealed she suffered a medical emergency that left her in hospital for an extended period.
Breaking her silence, the 52-year-old thanked fans for their messages of support in an Instagram video posted on Thursday morning, revealing she was feeling better than she had in weeks.
“I have received so many messages from you guys saying, ‘Where are you? When are you coming back to the radio?’ And the truth is, I don’t know,” she said.

“A couple of months ago, I had a medical emergency, completely unplanned as emergencies are, and I was in hospital for ages.”
She said her previous hospital visits had only been for happy news, to give birth to her children.
“This was certainly not that,” she said.
Swan has since been resting at home, sleeping, reading and catching up on jobs around the house.
“Sorting out the spice draw finally,” she joked.
“But today I feel the best I’ve felt in weeks slash months,” she said.
In the caption accompanying the video, Swan reassured her followers she was recovering and being well cared for at home, which she referred to as “The Compound”.
“I am OK, and I am going to be OK. I am recovering,” she wrote.
She said the messages from fans had warmed her heart and apologised for causing concern, adding the situation had also been worrying for her.
Swan said she would return to radio when she was better, but did not give a timeframe.
“As soon as I’m better, I will be back,” she told followers.
“And in the meantime, cat content, other bits and pieces. Thank you for all your beautiful messages.”
She said she would return when she felt like herself for longer than an hour at a time.
The cause of the medical emergency remains unclear, with Swan choosing not to share further details.
She hosts The Chrissie Swan Show on the Nova Network, which airs nationally on weekday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm.
